In 1936, Mississippi became the first state in the nation to come up with the idea of giving away money to entice companies to move to our state, and yet we are still in last place economically. The idea of paying companies to come to Mississippi has not worked and increasing the amount of corporate welfare with the “biggest economic development” project in Mississippi history is not the direction in which we should continue.
We still know very little about the newest economic development project, and will be asked to vote on the bill in less than 24 hours. This is a complete and utter failure of the process for which the tax payers of Mississippi should hold their politicians accountable.
